Biography

Artes Latinas is a consortium of several distinct Latin music ensembles. Artes Latinas was established by Colombian musician Karin Stein and Panamanian musician Edgar East in 1999, when they launched their first ensemble, Calle Sur.

Nearly 25 years later, Artes Latinas is going strong and now comprises ten ensembles which cover a wide range of music styles: traditional music from various Latin American regions, jazz fusion, salsa and other Latin dance music styles, Afro-Latin dancing, storytelling with live music, mariachi and other Mexican styles, and musical/theatrical shows. Most Artes Latinas ensembles are available nationwide.

All ensembles offer a broad range of fully bilingual workshops.  Below is a list by category.  Please visit http://www.artes-latinas.com to view demo videos for each one.
